Empowering Women to Save Lives — One Birth at a Time
FoA’s Midwifery Program supports community-based birthing clinics,
mentoring, and training in Nangarhar, Helmand, Khost, and Kabul.
Giving Birth in Afghanistan is Dangerous to Mothers and Infants
In communities where obstetric care is limited or unavailable, we are empowering our Afghan NGO partner organizations to train midwives and doulas as caregivers. Our programs focus on hands-on learning and mentoring, which ensures that expectant mothers have access to safe and compassionate care through our expanding network of local satellite birthing clinics. Together, we help expectant mothers deliver safely, supporting families and strengthening communities with dignity and respect.
